Senior Financial Accounting Manager

Reporting to: Finance Director
We are currently seeking a Senior Financial Accounts Manager to join a dynamic finance team. This role will involve overseeing key financial processes and ensuring the integrity of financial information within the business. You will have primary responsibility for managing the balance sheet and cash flow, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP, and maintaining financial controls in line with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Line management of two Financial Accountants and a Financial Analyst
- Leading month-end processes, including reconciliations, fixed asset accounting, and preparing balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintaining the integrity of the nominal ledger, including setting up nominal accounts and cost centres
- Overseeing the preparation of weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts
- Ensuring correct VAT accounting and liaising with auditors
- Supporting compliance reporting, such as VAT returns and other statutory returns
- Coordinating insurance renewals and compiling relevant data
- Leading the annual statutory accounts audit and assisting with SAR audits
- Managing ad-hoc project work as required
Essential Skills:
- Qualified accountant (ACA or equivalent)
- Strong IT proficiency with advanced Excel skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure to meet critical deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and a robust approach to relationships
- Experience in a client-focused environment is beneficial
